The Session is a small, perfectly formed magic convention in London, England. Thanks to our connections as the biggest magic store in the world, we’re able to attract amazing performers like Juan Tamariz, Richard Turner, Chris Kenner, Derren Brown, and Dynamo.

Sometimes, if a parent is incredibly established in a field, it makes it hard for you to make a name for yourself. Not so with Alexandra Duvivier. She has written and performed eight standalone shows, is much-loved by huge blue chip clients in France, and has fooled Penn and Teller. We know you'll love her.

David Stone

David Stone is funny, fooling, and French. He’s an actor, a multi-award winning performer, a creator of best-selling magic, and is one of the most popular French magicians in the world. He has appeared on Penn and Teller: Fool Us, and America’s Got Talent. David will be sharing a lecture with us, and performing in the Gala Show.

Allan Ackerman

For more than four decades Allan Ackerman has been praised as an innovator and technician with a pack of cards. He has been on the cutting edge of the card magic scene for so long that his name—and his work—has attained legend status. But Ackerman seldom appears at lectures or conventions, and particularly in recent years, has not been as visible in the magic community. This is why we're thrilled to welcome Allan Ackerman to The Session 2024.

Michael Feldman

Michael's magic is not just about tricks; it's about creating unforgettable experiences. He understands the power of storytelling and uses it to weave narratives that captivate and engage his audience. Whether performing on stage or up close and personal, his charisma and infectious enthusiasm leave a lasting impression on all who witness his magic.

David Gerard

David performed for us at Magifest last year, and when we say he blew the roof off the place, we mean it. As soon as he’d finished, we booked him for The Session. We can’t wait for you to experience this high-energy, astounding mentalism show. Straight from his residency in San Francisco to London, Heathrow. He spent many years working at Google, as well as a number of high profile Bay-area start ups. This seldom-shared knowledge will be something we know you’re be able to action for your own magic.

Ryan Plunkett

Ryan Plunkett hails from Chicago and has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning two decades. As a founding ensemble member and regular performer at the esteemed Chicago Magic Lounge, Ryan passionately contributes to the revival of Chicago style magic. His expertise extends beyond the stage, as he is highly sought after as a magic consultant, creator, and lecturer. Ryan's profound knowledge has been encapsulated in three published books, solidifying his authority in the realm of magic. This is his first time at The Session, and we know you’re going to love him.

Francesco Fontanelli

Francesco won the card magic category at FISM Europe in 2021, and we’re delighted he’ll be sharing his unique approach to magic at The Session. In 2022, he won The Golden Buzzer in Italy’s Got Talent. His performances he combines card magic and storytelling, to show his audience that something extraordinary can be hidden in the ordinary, and that even with a simple deck of playing cards, you can create an instant of real wonder.

Luke Jermay

Frankly, it wouldn’t be The Session without Luke Jermay. He has performed a brand new lecture every single year we’ve run the convention. And 2024 will be no exception. Expect to see something that will make you think, and guarantee you leave his lecture a better performer.

Darren Delaney

Darren Delaney has made a name for himself amongst magicians for his incredible memory performances. A previous competitor in the World Memory Championships, he'll show you how he uses memory tricks and techniques to create a massive impact with his audiences.

Paavan Buddhdev

Both a magician and an academic, Paavan draws from both backgrounds to help with his chosen career path, UX-design. He is a speaker and consultant to help people achieve the best user-experience in their chosen fields. How does this apply to magic? Find out in Paavan's talk, in which he'll help us think about magic in terms of our audience, and their experience of magic. Paavan is the author of Vanish, a literary meditation on making things disappear.

Danny Buckler

Known equally for his comedy prowess and his direct, zany approach to magic, Danny Buckler has performed his brand of comedy magic all over the world. A seasoned veteran of the UK-comedy scene and fresh on the heels of a standout performance in Las Vegas on the stage at Magic: Live, Danny Buckler will both perform and speak to us about his approach on character, charisma, and how to infuse comedy into magic.

Daniel Prado

Originating from Brazil, Daniel is driven by a single mission in his magic: to make it seem as genuine as possible. He aspires for his spectators to have no alternate explanations other than perceiving what they witnessed as real magic. This unwavering dedication has enabled him to devise some of the most potent magical routines ever witnessed. Daniel is set to deliver a transformative 20-minute discourse on card magic, promising to revolutionize your understanding and approach to the art.

Richard Evans

The enigma surrounding Erdnase's identity has itself been a grand magical illusion since the publication of 'Expert At The Card Table'. Numerous enthusiasts have delved deep into unveiling his true identity, leading to the creation of articles, books, and even movies centered around this mystery. Richard Evans is confident in his discovery of the real individual behind this influential book. He will be delivering a riveting lecture, revealing his extensive research and the conclusions he has drawn.

Axel Hecklau

Marking his debut at The Session, Axel Hecklau embodies the essence of a thorough professional, dedicating himself to presenting magic to real-world audiences. While his releases are rare, they invariably create ripples in the magical community. The reason is simple: each of his creations is a masterpiece. Axel is gearing up to present a novel lecture, and the anticipation is palpable as we eagerly await the insights he will share.

From the grandeur of Le Plus Grand Cabaret De Monde and The Magic Castle to the challenge of Penn and Teller Fool Us, and now, gracing The Session! Rubén is a multifaceted talent - a performer, innovator, and advisor. He boasts one of the most mesmerizing silent magic performances globally, seamlessly fusing mime, magic, and humor in a contemporary style, resulting in a breathtaking ambiance of astonishment and wonder. What magical marvels will he unveil from his treasure trove in London? Only time will tell.

Nikola Arkane

To dub Nikola Arkane a Magic Close-up Champion is not hyperbole – in recent years she has won several prestigious conjuring competitions. Hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland she has managed to captivate audiences and viewers across the world with a unique, fresh and theatrical style of magic. You may have seen her on the cover of Genii Magazine, she is 2023 Allan Slaight Rising Star in Magic and is the current Swedish Grand Prix Winner in Stage magic!

Tom Stone

Tom Stone has been an integral part of The Session's journey since its inception, and we are thrilled that he's on board to lecture for 2024. His unparalleled creativity and meticulous attention to detail set him apart. Tom is always on a quest for self-improvement and inspires others to embark on the same journey. His works have garnered widespread acclaim, and his innovative spirit is evident in all his endeavors. We are certain that his hour-long lecture will serve as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for all attendees.

How much is it?

This is the really good bit. It’s only £195 for the three days. You’re going to come away with more practical advice on how to improve your magic than anywhere else. It’s truly an unbeatable value.

And the hotel this year has rooms from just £115 per night (as always, this is subject to change).

Anyone who loves magic as much as we do. If you’ve just been bitten by the magic bug, you’ll learn so much and be so inspired. Beginners are made to feel just as welcome as seasoned professionals and the passionate magicians that attend from around the world. Where is it?

It’s probably the best-located convention in the world. Just two minutes from Heathrow airport — making it very easy to get to.

Please note: we have exclusive use of the conference area and bar at Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre. Only attendees (registered with badges) will be allowed access during the convention (and evenings). This year we will have door security to ensure that only registrants have access, and all registrants must show their badge to enter the conference area.

Introducing The Session Basecamp

We have all felt overwhelmed by the idea of coming to a magic convention. What if you don’t know anyone? Are people friendly? Who will you chat with? Who will you have dinner with? What if you’re nervous or anxious?

This year, we’re proud to announce new offerings designed to help first-timers, or those who want to make more friends feel as welcome as our The Session veterans.

We’re calling it Basecamp. A safe place you can return to any time you need.

Welcome Event
After the first session, all first-timers are invited to a breakout room where you’ll get to meet your hosts Josh and Andi and your other friends-to-be. We’ll make sure you’re welcomed properly and get to meet each other. Friendships could be formed here that will last you a lifetime. We can’t wait to meet you.

Basecamp Tables
We know how it can feel awkward for a first-timer or magic beginner trying to join a jam session already in progress. Or that the idea of eating alone can feel intimidating. So, this year, we’re reserving special tables in the convention area exclusively as your “Basecamp”.

These tables will be marked with table tents and will often have hosts present to help people get to know each other, to encourage us all to help each other with moves, or tricks, and to just generally have the best of times. Whether you’re working on a new trick or just want to see some cool magic, these tables will be a great place for Basecampers to gather.

Special Badges
A special pin will let everyone know you are a Basecamper. Beyond being an awesome collectible, this will help The Session veterans better welcome Basecampers and ensure you experience the very best of The Session.
